I am very interested in Robben Island, Nelson Mandella, Aprtheid in South Africa and the segregation of races.
I want to focus more on Robben Island and tie into how they kept huge political leaders like Nelson Mandella separate from society. I want to know why they did this and how long were they in jail and what were they in there for.

If you are planning on researching Nelson Mandella as well, you should watch Invictus! It would be great for background information. I do not know much about Robben Island, is that the prison he was kept in? How does Robben Island pertain to human rights? Perhaps the mistreatment of prisoners in governmental facilities? I think this is a very interesting topic, but there is A LOT of information you will have to find in order to make sure you have the facts straight.
